Frankfurt or Istanbul?

Frankfurt is the busiest internet hub in continental Europe and home to the DE-CIX exchange, so routes to Western and Central Europe are short. Pick it for a European audience, for EU data residency, or when you want a European address next to your Istanbul server.

Istanbul is still the better choice for Iran, Turkey and the Gulf (about 20 ms to Tehran and 42 ms to Dubai), for Windows VPS and MetaTrader, and when you need a 10 Gbit/s port. You can also test Istanbul before buying on the network page.

Both locations sit in one account, so nothing stops you from running a server in each.

Good fits for Frankfurt

A European website or shop
Serve visitors in Germany, France, the Netherlands or Poland from close by.
A cloud router
Run MikroTik CHR as a VPN concentrator or tunnel endpoint for your own network.
A database replica
Keep a copy of your data in the EU on the memory series.
Build and batch servers
Use the compute series for CI runners, encoding and scheduled jobs.

Questions about Frankfurt

Can I run Windows in Frankfurt?

No. Frankfurt offers Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CentOS Stream, Fedora) and MikroTik CHR. For Windows Server or MetaTrader, order an Istanbul plan from the Windows VPS page.

How is the Frankfurt network different from Istanbul?

Each Frankfurt server has a public IPv4 and an IPv6 address on a shared 1 Gbit/s port, and traffic is unlimited. Istanbul plans have a 10 Gbit/s port, a /64 IPv6 block and always-on DDoS protection. Outgoing port 25 is closed in Frankfurt; use 587 or 465 for mail, or ask support to unblock it.

Can I test Frankfurt before committing?

Yes: ping or traceroute our Frankfurt test IP 86.54.42.254 from your own connection to check latency. The download files on the network page are in Istanbul. For a fuller test, since billing is hourly, the easiest test is to order the smallest Frankfurt plan, try it for a few hours and delete it: the unused time goes back to your wallet.

Can I move a server between Istanbul and Frankfurt?

Not directly. Order a new server in the other location, move your data, then delete the old one; its unused hours return to your wallet. Upgrades to a bigger plan work within the same location.

Which cryptocurrencies do you accept?

USDT and TRX on the TRON (TRC20) network only. Bitcoin and Ethereum are not accepted. Network fees on TRC20 are under $1.

Need Windows, or a server near Tehran and Dubai?

That is what our Istanbul data center is for.
